Hi there!

My name is Tomislav Car /tsɑːɹ/ and I’m tech entrepreneur.

I build products, companies and invest in business ventures I find exciting. Right now I’m interested in SaaS, STEM, automotive and technology in general.

But more than everything else, I love working with smart, creative and fun people.

What I’m working on right now

Here are the companies I’m currently involved with:

• Productive- SaaS agency management system

• Infinum - digital product agency

• CircuitMess - electronics and STEM education company

• Rentlio - modern SaaS product for operating a hotel or vacation rental.

There are over 600 people working across all of these companies with an annual turnover north of $40M.

All of these businesses are completely different, which also makes them very interesting for me. I’m constantly learning new things and that makes me happy and keeps me challenged..

Exits

In the past I started Porsche Digital Croatia, a joint venture with Porsche around software in the automotive industry and successfully exited that business.

Life

I started my entrepreneurial journey when I was just 19 years old. I was born in a small city in Croatia called Karlovac and grew up during a war.

While I was growing up, my parents owned a small auto parts store. I never wanted to continue the family business because my heart was in technology but I learned a ton about entrepreneurship from them.

In my career I moved from programming and design, to project management, sales, marketing and more. You name it, I’ve probably done it (because I had to do it).

I lived in San Francisco for 3 years ramping up the US presence for Infinum. Although I loved Dolores Park very much, I decided that Croatia is my home and moved back.

Passions

I‘m a big music fan, and can play the guitar and drums, both equally bad.

When I’m old and retire, I hope to write and take time to learn playing those instruments better.

I’m a huge fan of the written word and like to read a lot, mostly on the Internet.

I love sports cars and motorcycles, and own two bikes: a 2018 Ducati XDiavel S, and a 2004 Yamaha XJR 1300.
