CircuitMess

Started in 2017, the company is the brainchild of Albert Gajšak, who just wanted everyone in the world to know and love electronics like he does.

There’s no denying that STEM skills are essential. But, most STEM products are boring and unimaginative. CircuitMess is changin that and bringing fun and useful education to everyone.

The vision for CircuitMess is to bring a better, more fun way for young people to learn about technology. To bring electronics and programming to the crowd in a fun and interesting way, and that’s why all the products are DIY.

It does that by creating STEM products that people actually want to play with - like a handheld gaming console or a mobile phone you assemble yourself. After you build it, you can sit behind a computer and program games for it.

Now, try to imagine that from a perspective of a creative child. You get this box full of parts, you put it all together, then you code something for it, and in the end — play games on this device that you yourself have built.

The journey to here

I wrote an in-depth article on how I became an investor in this company. The short story is that I met Albert when he was very young, and I generally had a very good feeling about him. So I decided to invest time and money in the business, although I never actually did any startup investing in the past.

I started my role at CircuitMess as an investor, providing capital and the odd business advice. Little did I know I’d get pulled in by the charm of Albert and this interesting market and become more and more involved around business strategy and general product decisions.
